Well, I finally have them!
Without much trouble, I was able to get myself a nice set of Japanese swords of high quality for only 160 pounds(230 euro)!
The company is going to try to transport them with their package service. If that fails,I'll try to fly them in with KLM or British Airways, because I'm told they allow the cairige of such souveniers,or I can send them over with TNT. Whatever's cheapest.
Update: Taking them with me in the lugage at BA doesn't cost me anything extra, just 72,90 pounds for the ticket. Sending them with TNT costs atleast 120 euro's, and I still need to get myself home. Needless to say, I'll book a flight with BA.(hey, that rimes!)
The Katana is about 1 meter long, including the hilt. It's edge has been sharpened, but it's not a live weapon I'd reckon; my scissors are still sharper.
The hilt has some decoration on it; a few samurai and a japanese dragon. It's a rather blunt decoration though, clearly the work of mass fabrication. Still, it's better then nothing. The hilt has a nice, tight fabric around it, making for a comfortable grip. I'd say the katana weights about a good two to three kilo's, four at max.
The wakizashi(short blade) is about 3/5th the size of the katana. It has the same decoration, though a shorter hilt. The edge is just as sharp as that of the katana. Naturaly, the wakizashi is much lighter to wield, weightning only about one or two kilo's.
The saya's(sheats) are not made of plastic, or any normal plastic for that matter. It's either some metal, or some special plastic material. Although they look quite nice, I doubt their made of the traditional material for saya's. My gues it's mass production again.
I also got a stand for the two, but I have to assemble it myself, and I'll leave that job for when I get home.

Alles lekker daar ginds. Ik hoop het maar ik wens je veel plezier met die aardappelscheermesjes onder T-shirt te verstoppen. Je had ze natuurlijk ook bij de Large kunnen bestellen. Maargoed ik vond het maar eens broodnodig om weer hier een van mijn zinloze praatjes te houden. En ik kom maar gelijk to the point, ik mis een beetje de schandalige verhalen. Ik las net je verhaal over de fles limonade van 20% alcolhol. Jaco gewoon als limonade beschouwen hoor gaat erin als siroop. nee grapje ik ga dit soort verhalen hier maar niet op hangen anders krijgt je famillie weer zon goeie indruk van mij;) . Maar dan ben je in Sale en niemand kent je toch dus ja wat heb je te verliezen denk ik dan maar afijn. Ooohw en om eerlijk te zijn vond ik de schoonheid van engelsen ook op een niet al te hoogstaant niveau. Maargoed ik ben weer even uitgepraat denk ik en ik kreeg net een mail van een lan party waar ik niks van snap overigens want denk je nou dat ik de noordzee overtrek om op een toetsenbord te rammen met heelveel andere mensen die ook op een toetsenbord rammen. Ik vind het trouwens wel tijd voor de afsluiting dus aju see ya en boven alles cheers(hier zit een hint natuurlijk). En maar er een lekker schandalige tijd nog van.
